“Wait right here.” I said letting go of him and standing, “I need to figure out how to get Elizabeth to stay.”

“Don’t tell her about me.” He replied looking up with tired eyes. “She won’t believe you. Just keep everyone here. Find a way.”

“Stay put.” I said, knowing full well that I had to tell her about him. “I’ll be right back.”

I ran to the room to find the kids watching television in the livingroom. I was taken aback by how large our suite was, but I didn’t have time to stop. I walked through the suite and found Elizabeth lounging on the bed in the master bedroom. She was reading one of the books she had brought with her, but looked up as I entered.

“What’s wrong?” She asked. I thought I had done a better job of not looking concerned, but I had apparently failed.

“I think we need to talk.” I said shutting the door behind me. “Something has come up that I think you need to know about.”

“What is it? Is everything okay?” She asked, quickly putting the book down and standing up.

“Sit down, trust me, you’ll need to be sitting for this.” I said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Okay.” She said slowly, before sitting down on the bed. The book lay forgotten as she scrutinized my face looking for the reason I needed to talk to her.

I explained everything in as much detail as I could. I told her about Lucas, the older Lucas. I told her that something was coming to take everyone in mid-February. She sat and listened patiently through the entire explanation, but her face gave away how she really felt. She didn’t believe a word I was saying and I knew it.

“You’re trying to tell me that our son traveled through time to keep us away from our home in Georgia, trying to keep us in a snowladen hell that is the state of Montana, all in an attempt to prevent us from being taken by aliens.” She said when I finished.

“I don’t know that they are aliens, but yes, that essentially is what has happened.” I replied, “I just think it wouldn’t hurt to stay up here another week or so, just in case. I know it sounds crazy, but I don’t want anything to happen to any of us, let alone the kids.”
